The Diversity & Inclusion Internship Specialist is responsible for producing, promoting and supporting the Ford Foundation Diversity & Inclusion internship program. In this role, you will take the lead in coordinating and overseeing our internship program while also providing essential support to our Talent Development department.

Essential Responsibilities

Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program Coordination:

1. Develops and implements programs to attract diverse candidates to our internship program, collaborating with various departments to identify opportunities and projects that align with our diversity and inclusion goals.

2. Serves as the primary point of contact for interns, providing guidance and support throughout their internship experience, including onboarding, that aligns with our organizations culture.

3. Tracks intern progress through bi-weekly meetings and evaluations forms, ensuring continues feedback and improvement.

4. Facilitates the delivery of curriculum for internship workshops, incorporating DEIA principles and best practices, that equips interns with the skills and knowledge to navigate a diverse workplace.

5. Maintains current DEIA best practices and benchmarks, particularly in the non-profit and cultural sectors.

6. Establishes partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other relevant entities to promote internship opportunities to underrepresented groups.

7. Supports the recruiting and selection process for the Ford Foundation Internship program ensuring a transparent process. Collaborates with departments to identify projects and intern leads that align with the foundation and institution diversity & inclusion goals.

8. Collects data from interns and intern leads to continuously improve the internship program.

9. Compiles data and generates reports on program metrics, including applicant demographics, recruitment sources, and program outcomes.

10. Provides administrative support to Talent & Culture such as recordkeeping, coordinating department events/activities and materials preparation.

11. Supports inquiries and requests related to talent and culture programs.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of professional work experience.

· 2 years of academic or work experience within a DEIA framework.

· Knowledge of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility concepts and best practice.

· Integrity and discretion with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Skills

· Experience with data collection and reporting.

· Ability to modify facilitation of programs.

· An active, collaborative approach to team projects

· Effective and flexible communication skills, particularly with writing and presenting.

· Organized and detail oriented.

· Ability to manage multiple projects.
