Our Finance team has an opportunity for a full-time General Accountant. This position will be responsible for recording journal entries, maintaining fixed asset records, and completing a broad range of analytical reviews and reconciliations. We are seeking a well-organized innovative self-starter with strong communication, technology, and analytical skills. You will assist with annual financial audits and play an essential role on a collaborative multi-team in the monthly accounting close.


Essential Responsibilities

• Key contributor to general ledger processes, including the monthly close. Prepares and reviews journal entries, facilitates timely processing, and actively participates on the Accounting analytics team.

• Key contact for independent auditors during year-end audits of financial statements, 403b, and federal grants. Prepares schedules and ensures follow-up of various audit tasks.

• Reconciles and reviews details from various functional systems, including general ledger, 403b, fundraising, ticketing, and payroll. Works with internal units and accounting leaders to ensure proper follow-up and problem resolution.

• Prepares tax and compliance schedules for Forms 990 and 990T.

• Acts as key problem-solver, identifying and correcting problems as well as recommending preventative solutions.

• Maintains and reconciles fixed asset records, providing related schedules and reports as needed.

• Performs other activities as necessary.

• Contributes to the effective team management of all problems, issues and opportunities.


Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and have a high comfort level working with technology.

• Experience with automated accounting systems, preferred.
